Sphero SPRK+ at FVRL

Fraser Valley Regional Library offers Sphero SPRK+ for loan. Customers can check out these app-enabled robotic balls, free of charge, for a two- or three-week lending period, just like library books.

Spheros support Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) learning. Sphero SPRK+ brings robotics, coding and STEAM principles together – all through play! Navigate a maze, program a painting, mimic the solar system, swim across water or have a dance party. You can also code your own program and design your own activity. The only limit is your imagination.

Borrowing a Sphero SPRK+ Kit with Your Library Card

Want to borrow a Sphero SPRK+ kit? It's easy! All you need is an FVRL card. Sphero SPRK+ kits will circulate through the FVRL system as part of the floating collection. If we don't have one available at your local library, we can put a hold on the next available kit and it will be delivered to your nearest FVRL location. You can check availability at your library or search online in the FVRL catalogue.

You may check out your Sphero SPRK+ kit for a three-week loan period (and renew it up to three times) as long as there are no holds on the item. If there are other customers waiting, then you may borrow it for two weeks only. Please return your Sphero SPRK+ kit on time to any FVRL location. (Please return the device to a service desk. Do not place it in a book drop!) Overdue items are subject to Fines and Fees. The Sphero SPRK+ collection is available to FVRL full access cardholders only. See Getting a Library Card for more details.
