How to Get Your Library Card
Visit Us In Person
Bring the required ID to any FVRL location:
- Adults (18+): One piece of ID with your current mailing address.
- Teens (13-18): One piece of ID, like a student card.
- Children (12 and under): ID for the child (e.g., birth certificate) and proof of address for the parent/guardian.
Institutional Memberships
Businesses, daycares, and non-profits in FVRL-served areas can apply for free institutional memberships.
What You Need:
- A letter of application on company letterhead signed by a manager or executive.
Responsibility:
- Borrowing materials is the responsibility of the organization and must be authorized by a signing officer.
Not an FVRL Community Resident?
You may still qualify for a library card!
- If you have a valid library card from your local library, you’re eligible for an InterLINK membership at FVRL.
- InterLINK lets Lower Mainland residents borrow materials from participating libraries.
- Bring your home library card and identification with your current address to register at any FVRL location.
- Visit the InterLINK website for more information and list of participating libraries
- Residents outside the Lower Mainland with a valid library card can apply for a BC OneCard membership.
- Open to all BC residents with a valid library card from their community library.
- Borrow materials from libraries across BC, even outside the InterLINK network.
- Bring your home library card and identification with your current address to register at any BC public library, including FVRL locations.

With a reciprocal agreement in place, Whatcom County residents can sign up using their Whatcom County Library card and applicable ID.
